Does the display adapt when the device is turned upside down?

Yes, this feature can be enabled by adjusting the flip display setting in the settings menu. When the setting is enabled, the display will rotate to all four directions.

Can the device measure it’s own length?

Yes, the reference setting can be adjusted in the settings menu to measure either from the front or back edge of the device, or from the middle of the tripod thread.

Can this device measure the area of a roof?

The GLM 500 is not intended for outdoor applications, however the GLM 120 C and GLM 250 VF have viewfinders and are suitable for use in bright light.
