The Battle of Stalingrad can be considered one of the most important battles of World War II. It began in September 1942, when the city was reached by Paul’s Sixth Army, and ended in late February 1943 with the defeat of the German troops, surrounded by Russian troops and weakened by the terrible Russian winter, to Marshal Schukov, the K. ommandeur der Soviet troops of the sector. Particularly known were the clashes around the two major factories, including the well-known tractor factory, where violent fighting came hand in hand.
