Optimal aroma development

The flat lid developed by STAUB with a special aroma capturing structure on the inside ensures a continuous cycle of natural humidification of your food during the cooking process. While condensed water collects on the sides of domed lids without structure, here humidity drips down and is evenly distributed. This effect is enhanced by placing ice cubes on the lid.

Energy-saving cooking

The cast iron ensures optimal heat distribution and makes the Cocotte an energy-efficient cookware. Heat the roaster for 5 minutes with one third of the total power of your hob then turn it up to 250°C. Thanks to the particularly long and even temperature storage, hot food stays hot for a long time even on the table, while cold food remains optimally cooled.

High quality enamelling

The cast iron cocotte is covered on the inside with a matte black enamel with a coarse structure. This gives the food an excellent roasting aroma when fried and enhances the unique taste of fresh ingredients. With each use, fats settle into the coarse structure, which in combination with heat and steam form a good non-stick property. The natural patina that develops over time allows frying with very little fat and easy cleaning.
