  • F PROBE: Magnetic Induction Principle – Be used for non-magnetic coatings(e.g. aluminum, chrome, copper, zinc, paint, varnish, enamel, rubber, etc) on an iro or steel substrate; It also suitable for alloyed and hardened magnetic steel(However, not suitable for austenic steel). Note: Min thickness of substrate is 0.2mm for F Probe
  • N PROBE: Eddy Current Principle – Be used for insulating coatings(e.g. paint, anodizing, ceramics, etc) on all non-ferrous metals(e.g. aluminum, copper, zinc die casting, brass etc) and on austenitic stainless steels. Note: Min thickness of substrate is 0.05mm for N Probe

Product Description

ERAY P1 coating thickness gauge

Principle of Measurement:

The coating thickness gauge work either on the magnetic induction principle or on the eddy current principle, depending on the type of probe used. This gauge have internal F probe and N probe.

  • F probe work on magnetic induction principle and should be used for non-magnetic coatings such as alu-minium, chrome, copper, zinc, paint and varnish,enamel, rubber etc., on an iron or steel substrate; It is also suitable for alloyed and hardened magnetic steel(however, not suitable for austenic steel).
  • N Probe work on the eddy current principle and should be used for insulating coatings e.g. paint, anodizing, ceramics, etc., on all non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, copper, zinc die casting, brass etc. and on austenitic stainless steels.

Data Store: 4 groups, total 320 measurements, max 80 readings will be stored for each group. If over 80 readings, please delete the group, or it will not store the new measurements.

USB Data Transmission: Connect it to PC, then you can download, analyze and store the measured readings. Software compatible with Windows SVR 2000/2003/2008 and Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10(32&64 Bits)

Easy to Carry: Included a plastic toolbox, users would no longer have to worry about carrying and storage problems. USB cable, software CD and batteries also in the toolbox

Manual Calibration

Zero Calibration

  1. Enter into zero calibration from menu;
  2. Then put the gauge on the sample substrate(Fe/ Al).

Multi-point Calibration

  1. Do zero calibration first;
  2. Select one standard foil that the value close to what you want to measure from the included 5 standard foils with value and then put it on the sample substrate(Fe/ Al);
  3. Enter into any one point calibration from menu;
  4. If the reading isn't same as the value on the standard foil, press the "up/down" button to set as the same number.
