You are the representatives of the noble houses in the council of the kingdom of Ankist. Together you ensure prosperity and security in your Duchies and throughout the kingdom. Your decisions determine the fate of the whole country!

The core of the game is an evolving stack of event cards. Your decisions determine which of the branched action strands you follow over around 20 games to one of the many possible ends.

The underlying rules are intentionally kept slim to focus on history.

Each player embodies a noble house that represents special interests, but also has a secret agenda for every game.

In each round, you draw a card from the dilemma stack and learn about the latest events in the land. Each event introduces you a choice that you must make together on the name of the king.

You will discuss, negotiate and finally vote. Your decision will lead to new events and thus determine the course of the story.

Your decision also affects the resources of the kingdom. If a resource rises or sinks to the extreme, the king descends and the game ends.
