Mulching is a special technique with which the grass blades are extremely shredded in several steps and fall between the lawn. As a rule, when mowing the lawn, the cut grass is collected in a collecting basket or bag and must then be disposed of. If, on the other hand, you use our lawnmower with mulching function, the lawn cuttings are shredded. These so-called mulch cuttings are distributed over the lawn and nutrients are returned to the soil because earthworms transport the mulch into deeper layers of soil. The mulch is also useful in hot weather as it keeps the roots of the grass cool and prevents the soil from silting up when it rains. Another advantage is that the very short cuttings fall to the ground past the standing stalk, which means that the lawn does not dry out and weeds are suffocated relatively safely. The mulch thus reduces the growth of weeds. And mulch rots much faster than the long-stemmed pure cuttings, which normally have to be disposed of, as they hardly rot at all. Of course, by simply placing the grass collector and removing the side discharge, the cuttings can be picked up directly with the grass collector.
