Our Story
The 1940s was a decade unlike any other, seeing exciting developments in both science and technology and was a truly revolutionary time. Many famous brands were born in this period including the true British watch brand; Accurist. Asher and Rebecca Loftus founded the brand in London in 1946. They were determined to create a brand with lasting value to stand out from the crowd. The pair produced a new range of watches which combined value with unrivalled quality at the time. Accurist was originally based on St. John Street in Clerkenwell, one of London’s most stylish districts, known for being a fashionable area of the capital and dating back to medieval times. Over 70 years later, this treasured history and British heritage continues to be a vital element of the brand.
