After a promising but brief cycling career, Maurizio Castelli created his eponymous brand in 1974, with the vision of keeping up with technology, performance and design of cycling products.

A series of products not yet seen until that time will follow: the Lycra shorts used in racing and sold to the public, the colored shorts, the sublimated printed jerseys, the synthetic winter clothing, the use of windproof membranes, the hydrophilic treatments of the fabric, the anatomical case back and a lightweight jersey and aerodynamics.

Maurizio died in 1995 while riding on the Cipressa, the penultimate ascent of Milan-Sanremo.

Castelli is dedicated to carrying on Maurizio's dream: to create a clothing suitable for the cyclist looking for a good performance.

This relentless drive for performance has helped Castelli revolutionize cycling clothing recently: in fact, it pioneered the creation of road cycling clothing that is light, aerodynamic and tight.

Castelli created a class of products with the Gabba short-sleeved jacket/shirt and transformed bad weather clothing to offer good protection from rain and road splashes, while offering warmth and breathability.

His pushing forward the boundaries of performance made it possible to make fast and comfortable clothing accessible and within the reach of cyclists.

The obsession with performance in clothing extends to triathlon clothing that can save minutes during the bike stage, and gravel clothing that combines relaxed style with light protection.

Castelli continues to draw from his experience and constantly works to make cycling comfortable.
