The Trailpack II is our most flexible, waterproof backpack with an unlimited range of uses! It is just as suitable for bikepacking as it is for gravel or is a light companion in everyday urban life. The super small pack size of the Trailpack makes it perfect for bike trips, where it can be taken out of your luggage for sightseeing and then stowed away again to save space. The useful details are also impressive: The packsack with a volume of 8 l is welded waterproof and is closed when rolled up. It is connected to the back at the bottom and at the side, so that additional luggage or a 2-litre hydration bladder can be stowed in the space from above. A helmet, a wet jacket or other equipment can be stored behind the front flap with 2 compression straps. Valuables can be safely stored in a small zipped pocket on the back. Reflective prints placed on the front and side of the pack sack ensure safety in the dark. Both the waterproof stuff sack and the front flap are made from 100% recycled materials. .

VAUDE offers functional, innovative, and sustainable products for mountain and cycling sports. In doing so, the family-owned company sets social standards worldwide. In cooperation with the independent organization Fair Wear, the outdoor outfitter is committed to good working conditions and fair manufacturing worldwide. VAUDE has been climate neutral in Germany since 2012 and with all products worldwide since 2022.

  • VAUDE has been climate neutral with all products since 2022! What does that mean?

In concrete terms, it means that we have taken the time to calculate our global greenhouse gas emissions for VAUDE as a company, including all products, and fully offset all currently unavoidable emissions. At the same time, we are continuing to reduce our emissions in accordance with science-based targets (SBTs) in order to make our contribution to meeting the 1.5-degree target.

  • What is the Science Based Targets Initiative and what are science-based targets?

The international Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) helps companies set measurable and realistic climate targets to reduce emissions. By joining SBTi, we as a company have committed to doing our part to meet the 1.5-degree target. This means that we are reducing our emissions and, in addition, have been voluntarily offsetting all emissions that we can't yet avoid since 2022. This makes us climate neutral.

  • What CO2 reduction targets have we set?

We've set three SBTs and submitted them to the SBTi. They are now under review and should be verified by the end of 2022. We will then be reviewed annually on whether we are meeting our targets.

    1. By 2026: 30% less emissions from the company vehicle fleet compared to 2019 (Scope 1)

    2. By 2030: continue to use 100% green electricity at the German company headquarters (Scope 2)

    3. By 2030: 50% reduction in Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions compared to 2019, particularly emissions from material consumption and energy consumption in material production.

  • How important is it that VAUDE is climate neutral worldwide?

Very important! The most recently published IPCC report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change once again forcefully points out that climate change is a man-made reality and is progressing even faster than previously assumed.

The 1.5-degree target agreed in the Paris Climate Agreement could be exceeded as early as 2030 if things continue as they have been. We aren't willing to wait – now is the time to take action.
