This oil has undergone various name changes during its lifetime, but the specification of the oil has remained the same and the previous equivalent names for this oil are as follows

– Shell Tellus R25 (Pre ISO)
– Shell Tellus R27 (Pre ISO – Substituted)

Note : Shell Tellus R27 did not map cleanly onto an ISO VG grade when the ISO viscosity standardisation system came into effect. Shell Tellus R27 falls between ISO VG 32 and 46, and either can be used as a substitute.
