SAE 50 Classic Motor Oil Classic motor oils are a specialist range of high-quality, low detergent/dispersant monograde lubricants. These oils are designed for use in naturally aspirated four-stroke petrol and diesel engines, as well as classic gearbox designs. Applications: This classic oil is ideal for veteran, classic, and vintage cars, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, and tractors, where engine designs and tolerances prohibit the use of modern multigrade, high additive level oils. Modern dispersant additives in oils keep combustion chamber contamination suspended, allowing full-flow cartridge filters to remove it. However, early oil filtration methods—typically mesh gauze or strainers—are not efficient enough to remove this suspended material. Classic oils are formulated with low dispersant properties, allowing suspended particles to settle harmlessly into the sump. These oils also feature enhanced anti-foam properties, ensuring optimized performance in classic motorcycle and automotive gearbox designs. Performance Level: API SD / CC
